Myotherapy
Imagine a Physio with a passion for hands-on treatment; that’s Myotherapy. Dry needling, shockwave therapy, joint mobilisation, rehab exercises, remedial massage, myofascial release, electrotherapy; the list goes on! Like always, the focus of our Myotherapy sessions will be on building strength and mobility for the future, however the use of hands-on techniques to improve how things feel right now will never be ignored.
We often see conditions ranging from tennis elbow and various finger injuries, all the way to sudden or long-standing neck and lower back pain; such is the comprehensive nature of Myotherapy that almost any condition involving muscles, tendons and joints can benefit. From your initial session expect a lengthy and thorough assessment of the whole body, with a focus on your specific issue if required; this will be to determine what tissue (muscle, joint, tendon or otherwise) is causing your current pain/dysfunction and whether or not hands-on treatment, exercise, or a combination of both will be the best course for your issue.
What to expect
Much like all of our practitioners at Rock Therapy, the aim will be to empower you with as many home based exercise, stretching or self-mobilising tools as possible so that you can take control of your own pain. Sadly, work cover and Medicare health can not currently be serviced by our Myotherapists; if this relates to you, we suggest booking in with one of our Osteopaths.
If you have any questions regarding Myotherapy and whether or not it’s the right option for you, feel free to contact us here.
All of the team here at Rock Therapy are avid rock climbers and train regularly. So we know firsthand all about muscle strains, joint and ligament pain and all types of injuries. Your treatment will be tailored specifically to your body, your injury and the pain you’re experiencing. No standard treatments here, we’ll also listen to your problems. So! If you want to get back to work, sport or just living without pain, Rock Therapy can help, click the “Book Now” button below.

I have had a lot of injuries. Weird brag, I know, but with the majority of my sporting life being focussed around rock climbing and long distance running, I’ve injured just about every part of my body. This has given me both an understanding of what rehab and treatment works best, but also what it’s like to mentally go through that experience. The things I value most from my therapists is a clear description of what my problem is, what the plan is going forward and how quickly I should expect […]

I grew up riding dirt bikes, I found rock climbing as the addictive sport that it is in my early 20’s and, to make matters worse, also started enjoying long distance running in my 30’s. It’s easy to say that I’ve experienced my fair share of injuries, aches and pains over the years from all of these sports. I have a personal understanding of short term and chronic pain and the effects that it has on people both physically and mentally. I apply this experience to all of my treatments […]
