Elbow Pain

Elbow Pain

Elbow pain can be caused by a variety of factors, including overuse injuries, traumatic injuries, arthritis, or nerve compression. Common symptoms include pain, stiffness, swelling, weakness, or reduced range of motion in the affected elbow.

Treatment for elbow pain will depend on the underlying cause of the condition. In general, conservative treatments are often effective in reducing symptoms and promoting healing. These may include:

Rest: Avoiding activities that aggravate the condition can help to reduce pain and inflammation.

Ice therapy: Applying ice to the affected area for 15-20 minutes several times a day can help to reduce pain and swelling.

Physical therapy: Strengthening and stretching exercises can help to improve range of motion and reduce pain.

Bracing or splinting: A brace or splint may be used to provide support and reduce strain on the affected elbow.

Corticosteroid injections: In some cases, corticosteroid injections may be used to reduce pain and inflammation.

In more severe cases, surgery may be necessary to repair damaged tissues or nerves or to remove bone spurs or other growths that are causing nerve compression.
