FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

These are some of the most frequent questions we're asked before people come in for a session. If your question isn't answered here, feel free to use the contact form at the bottom of this page 🙂

What is Myotherapy?

Imagine a Physio with a passion for hands-on treatment; that’s Myotherapy. Dry needling, shockwave therapy, joint mobilisation, rehab exercises, remedial massage, myofascial release, electrotherapy; the list goes on! Like always, our focus will be on building strength and mobility for the future, however the use of hands-on techniques to improve how things feel right now will never be ignored.

We often see conditions ranging from tennis elbow and various finger injuries, all the way to sudden or long-standing neck and lower back pain; such is the comprehensive nature of Myotherapy that almost any condition involving muscles, tendons and joints can benefit.

From your initial session expect a lengthy and thorough assessment of the whole body, with a focus on your specific issue if required; this will be to determine what tissue (muscle, joint, tendon or otherwise) is causing your current pain/dysfunction and whether or not hands-on treatment, exercise, or a combination of both will be the best course for your issue.

What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic focusses on the health of joints, nerves and muscles to help with pain and injuries all throughout the body. Although your Chiro at Rock Therapy may use dry needling, shockwave, exercise or massage techniques, their main focus will be the use of ‘adjustments’. This entails applying pressure to a joint, followed by a quick thrust which may result in a pop or clicking noise within the joint itself. This works not only on improving joint motion, but also impacts the nerves and muscles in the area to try and help the body, to essentially help itself!

Here at Rock Therapy we often see conditions ranging from tennis elbow and various finger injuries, all the way to sudden or long-standing neck and lower back pain; such is the comprehensive nature of Chiropractic that almost any condition involving muscles, tendons and joints may benefit. What to expect

Much like all of our consults at Rock Therapy, the aim will be to empower you with as many home based exercises, stretching or self-mobilising tools as possible so that you can take control of your own pain.

Medicare, Workcover and DVA

Chiropractors are able to be included in health care management plans, work cover arrangements and DVA treatment schedules. So talk to your GP or workplace today, or contact us for more information.

If you have any questions regarding Chiropractic and whether or not it’s the right option for you, feel free to contact us here.

Can I use a Medicare Healthcare Plan at your clinic?

Sadly, we are currently unable to process healthcare plans developed with a GP. Jack will be finishing his Chiropractic Masters in February and after he is registered we’ll be able to service these once more! If you’re unsure of whether or not you qualify for a healthcare plan the best place to start is clicking on this link! This website has all the information surrounding healthcare plans (or EPC’s they’re often referred to). The next step is to chat to your GP to see if you qualify.

Where is Rock Therapy located?

We are located at 2/47 Castlemaine St. Milton, just across the road from Suncorp stadium. Our rooms are within The Wild Movement gym, just next door to Good Bean Coffee. So if you pop in and take a seat, one of our staff will be with you shortly 🙂
