Chiropractic

Chiropractic focusses on the health of joints, nerves and muscles to help with pain and injuries all throughout the body. Although Chiro at Rock Therapy may use needling, exercise or massage, their main focus will be the use of ‘adjustments’. Adjusting applies pressure to a joint, a quick thrust which creates a pop or clicking noise within the joint itself. This improves the brains connection to the area to try and help the body help itself! This normally feels like a relaxing of stiffness and often a reduction in pain.

Here at Rock Therapy we often see conditions ranging from tennis elbow and various finger injuries, all the way to sudden or long-standing neck and lower back pain; such is the comprehensive nature of Chiropractic that almost any condition involving muscles, tendons and joints may benefit. For your initial session expect a lengthy and thorough assessment of the whole body, with a focus on your specific issue if required; this will be to determine what tissue (muscle, joint, tendon or otherwise) is causing your current pain/dysfunction and whether or not hands-on treatment, exercise, or a combination of both will be the best course for of action.

What to expect

Much like all of our consults at Rock Therapy, the aim will be to empower you with as many home based exercises, stretching or self-mobilising tools as possible so that you can take control of your own pain. In session, Dr. Jack may use Chiropractic manipulation; the clicking or popping normally associated with Chiro which stretches the joint space and can help with a multitude of conditions.

Chiropractor

I have had a lot of injuries. Weird brag, I know, but with the majority of my sporting life being focussed around rock climbing and long distance running, I’ve injured just about every part of my body. This has given me both an understanding of what rehab and treatment works best, but also what it’s like to mentally go through that experience. The things I value most from my therapists is a clear description of what my problem is, what the plan is going forward and how quickly I should expect […]
